Author Anna Fienberg visits St Joseph's

Our school community was very fortunate to have Anna Fienberg visit and tell the children of what motivates her to write books, what is involved in writing books, and shared her love of reading. Anna was most impressed with the students of St. Joseph’s, with many children taking the time to individually thank her - some beautiful children created art for Anna that was inspired by her books. As her last school visit of the year, Anna commented that her experience at St. Joseph’s has finished her year on a high.

Anna Fienberg grew up in a house filled with books. Her mother was a teacher librarian who relished stories as much as chocolates. 'On Sunday mornings we'd all lie in bed with our books, lost in magical wardrobes, witches’ spells, genies’ magic... What we were going to read next was just as important in our family as what was for lunch!' says Anna. (https://www.allenandunwin.com/authors/f/anna-fienberg) Anna started writing stories when she was eight, but never imagined being an author. Her first book, Billy Bear and the Wild Winter, was published in 1988, since then, Anna has written over forty books and has received several awards for her work.

🌟 Student Success at the Hawkesbury Show! 🌟 We are so proud of Orlaith and Inaya, who are part of a special pilot program in collaboration with John Paul II. On Friday, they proudly represented St Joseph’s Primary School Schofields at the Hawkesbury Show. 👏✨ This exciting partnership is just the beginning, and we are exploring ways to extend the program throughout the year. We look forward to creating even more opportunities for our students to learn, grow, and shine. 💙🐑

🌅 Lest We Forget 🌅 This morning, as the sun rose over Riverstone, students from St Joseph’s Primary School Schofields stood alongside our community at the Riverstone Dawn Service to honour the ANZAC spirit. In the quiet of the early morning, our young people bowed their heads in remembrance of the men and women who served and sacrificed for our nation. It was a powerful and moving experience — one that reminds us why we gather each year on this sacred day. To our students and families who made the effort to attend: thank you for keeping this tradition alive and for showing our community what it means to remember. 🔴 At the going down of the sun, and in the morning — we will remember them. #LestWeForget #AnzacDay2026 #RiverstoneDAwnService #StJosephsSchofields #ANZACDay #CatholicEducation #ProudToRemember
